Mentoring for Ministry

Student Life

Balance is the key to a successful Christian life at Master's.  Academic classes have been arranged to accommodate a regular daytime job to ensure students have ample time for study, ministry and fun activities. Married students love our family-friendly schedule which enables them to spend quality time with their families. Opportunities for serving the Lord abound in and through the local church setting.

Spiritual Life

The spiritual growth of students is our utmost concern. Students are encouraged in their daily devotional life and walk with the Lord. God puts a premium on preaching and at Master's it is no different.  Students regularly hear the preaching of Pastor Scheving and each quarter pastors, evangelists, and missionaries are brought in to challenge students hearts in a particular area. Special Sunday classes for single students and married students are designed to meet the needs of each respective group. The college offers many occasions for developing spiritual leadership through the local church. In addition to weekly church attendance, two to three hours/week in a particular ministry each quarter is required.

Ministry Opportunities

Students have ample opportunity to "plug into" various local church ministries such as bus ministry, printing ministry, radio station, campus ministry, jail and chaplain work, choir, orchestra, church building programs, treasury work, women's ministries, nursery, teaching and preaching, discipleship, church custodial and maintenance work, youth work, and media ministry. Our desire is to develop Christian leaders who know the importance of serving.

The "Red River Valley" Area

The fertile Red River Valley has been called the "Breadbasket of the World."  It's a wonderful place to experience God's four seasonsFargo-Moorhead (the FM area) is located about 45 minutes away from the beautiful lakes area of Minnesota. The FM area is consistently awarded "one of the top places to live in America."  It is an area of low crime and hard-working people who take pride in their community. The FM area is also home to three universities and several other smaller colleges.

Local Housing/Employment

In this area of approximately 150,000 people, jobs are normally fairly easy to come by.  Housing and the cost of living are also quite reasonable.  The FM area has shown itself to be somewhat "recession proof" during past economical crises that have affected the rest of the nation. The staff of Master's will be happy to assist any incoming students in lining up some form of reasonable housing in the Fargo-Moorhead area.  MBC does not have dorms as it feels it would be more economically feasible for students to acquire their own housing.  This will also provide a proving ground for the student's character and responsibility for his conduct outside a "controlled environment."

Married Students

Married students thrive at MBC. The scheduling of academic classes in the evening hours enables families the opportunity to work full-time day jobs with evenings open for classes, church services, ministry, activities and family nights. In addition, affordable housing in the Fargo-Moorhead area makes Master's especially family-friendly.

Social Life/Activities

Friday evenings are reserved for get-togethers, special events and family nights. The Annual Feast of Charity complete with feast and fun remains a favorite event.  Monthly Saturday Night Fellowships are a fun place to meet and make new friends. Activities include: ice-skating, roller-skating, baseball games, campfire and hay rides, BBQs, and bowling. Lots of memory-making fun!
